When I was in Europe last year, I was amazed at how many different languages Europeans could speak. Especially the staff at airports. I saw a girl flip back and forth with six different languages fluently within a span of 5 minutes. I do not speak as many languages as this lady you encountered at the airport, but besides English I do speak a little French and some rudimentary Latin which is absolutely useless, but it's taught in the schools here in Germany anyways.
I am currently trying to become acquainted with Spanish and hopefully someday with Japanese since I would really like to spend some holidays in Japan sometime in the future, but we'll see...</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="verdana, arial">I speak Spanish almost fluently and some French, Italian, and Latin. It is surprising that even though Latin is pretty much a dead language, it is extremely useful when learning other languages.
